Surrey Life Magazine recently launched a photography competition called " The Challenge".
The basic idea is to track down any old picture of your local area and take it back to the place where the shot was originally captured. Then, aiming to get the perspective as seamless as possible, you retake the photo with its modern backdrop.
Here is the original photo taken by Jo Orr from Coulsdon.

The shot was taken at the Whitgift Almshouses using a photo provided by the Croydon Local Studies Library of ladies preparing for the 1930 Harvest Festival.
Royston Williamson (Dorking Camera Club) took these two shots of the High Street using photographs from the Dorking Museum archive.
if you would like to have your pictures published on our website or even in Surrey Life Magazine; please mail me with your completed photographs.
Thank you to Matthew Williams at Surrey Life for letting us use the original photgraph.
