Dorking Museum and Mole Valley District Council are working together on a short film project called 'Made in Mole Valley', a project centred around the London 2012 Olympic Games celebrating local cultural and heritage.

Launched as part of the 2011 Arts Alive Festival, the council is inviting budding film-makers to submit three to five minute short films, that feature Mole Valley, with an Olympic-inspired theme for the 'Made In Mole Valley' project.

Films might highlight local culture be it history, landmarks, arts events, local artists, nature, sport or more and can be documentary, animation, fiction, narrative, experimental, music video or any other types.

They can be filmed in a variety of mediums, for example mobile phones, digital camera, webcams, camcorders or professional film equipment.

A panel of judges will be appointed to select the best films which will be featured on the Mole Valley District Council website and other websites, including YouTube.

The winning films may also be featured on big screens in Mole Valley during the Olympic Cycling Road Race weekend. Films may be submitted from 1 October 2011 to 31 May 2012.

Films more than 10MB must be posted to Made In Mole Valley, Pippbrook, Reigate Road, Dorking, RH4 1SJ. Films less than 10MB in size can be emailed to arts@molevalley.gov.uk.
