The Museum work continues to remain on track. Royston Williamson visited last week to track the progress.
We have been told that we will be able to transport our Archives over to the new building just after Christmas. The new opening gets ever closer!
The main room on the
ground floor. The new ceiling support is all finished.
Looking left from the same
place as the above photo. All those floor tiles ready to be laid.
The new ceiling is visible here.
And
from the opposite corner. The lovely archway just needs plastering
over.
Upstairs in the Archives.
One wall is already finished and the floor is just having the final
touches added.
A
closer look at that new floor. This will be covered in floor tiles
which are being laid next week.
Back
downstairs again. Our railway structure is tucked away in the
corner. It will be a "pretend" support when it is reassembled.
Looking towards the new entrance door.
The newly plastered ceiling is directly above.
The old fireplace has now been bricked
up in the far right corner, the sprung floor (for maximum heat
efficiency) is partly laid.
A
closer look at the new floor.
