For the first time in 18 months the Museum opened its' doors to the public. It wasn't an easy decision to make as the museum is in a very bad state and all the artefacts are in storage. But we realised that people have been contributing all summer to the Museum fund so it was important to let them know what is going on.

Dominic Carter sourced a few lovely items that were ideal to display - a couple of lamps from the Napoleonic Wars and two fire marks.
Yvonne Durell produced very comprehensive displays on the Georgian houses that surrounded Dorking for many years. Karen Murray (the Museum's new secretary) borrowed two beautiful Georgian costumes.

In total 190 people came to see our displays. A combination of generous donations and book sales meant the museum raised over £170.
